Farside Ventures, a Spanish venture builder specializing in the creation of deeptech startups, announced today they joined Tech Barcelona as Corporate Partners. The partnership will allow Farside Ventures the creation of projects based on technology transfer, as well as strengthen its connection with the other agents of the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem in the Catalan capital.
Farside Ventures has 18 startups in its portfolio and have financed €20.5M to date. Their verticals include 101 Ventures, which invests in digital deep tech to disrupt traditional business; 5G Ventures, focused on the 5G ecosystem aimed at making a reality the fourth digital revolution; The Data Venture, the first Spanish venture builder for web3 and development of blockchain tech; Fintech Ventures, aimed at creating fintech solution for traditional business models; and Sustainability Ventures, specialized in climate tech and environmental impact.
This venture builder, founded in Barcelona in 2020 by entrepreneurs Rafael García-Escarré, Marc Borrell, Jordi Priu, Oriol Relats, and Guillermo Briones, aspires to support 100 startups in the next four years, with a value that will range between €75M and €100M.
Tech Barcelona, a non-profit association that promotes and supports the development of the technological ecosystem in Barcelona, represents over 1,200 innovative companies from all sectors that showcase a common interest and promote the transformation of both traditional sectors and economic models through technology.
Rafael García Escarré, co-founder and CEO of Farside Ventures, expressed that “joining Tech Barcelona means working hand in hand with an entity that shares our spirit of creating an advanced entrepreneurial ecosystem. In the last few years, Barcelona has found its place amongst leading European cities like London, Paris, and Berlin as a “place to be” for tech startups and restless entrepreneurs to find their ground, develop their solutions and gather support from partners and investors.
