Keanu Reeves just revealed if he’d play a live-action version of Bruce Wayne in the future.
Reeves is currently voicing Batman in DC League of Super-Pets, which costars Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The film, as the title suggests, focuses on a group of pets who are given superpowers and must work together to save the Justice League. It hits theaters on July 29.
While at a screening in Los Angeles, California, Extra‘s Rachel Lindsay interviewed Reeves, prompting him with a comment about a live-action Batman, saying, “Now, you emphasize the voice, [but] we would kind of like to see you step in the suit!”

In response, Reeves seemed bashful about the possibility, saying, with a smile on his face, “You know, it’s always been a dream, but you know, [Robert] Pattinson‘s got Batman right now, and he’s doing awesome, so maybe down the road. Maybe when they need an older Batman.”

Lindsay wasn’t standing for the self-deprecating comments about his age, exclaiming, “Stop, don’t, I will not allow you to do that to yourself.”

Throughout his long acting career, Reeves has (and continues to) dominate the action genre with roles in movies like The Matrix and John Wick. It’s honestly surprising that he hasn’t played a superhero yet.
Last year, Deadline reported that Reeves is on track to star in BRZRKR for Netflix, an adaptation of his comic book of the same name, co-written with Matt Kindt. The main character is a superhero of sorts, though you might better describe him as a vigilante antihero.
With one superhero project coming up, why not add a new version of Batman to the list?
